In May of 2014, after being a prosecutor in Tarrant County and Dallas County for over 5 years, I decided it was the right time to start my own boutique litigation firm here in Fort Worth.  My goal was to continue to help individuals in trial litigation, primarily as a criminal defense attorney or a personal injury attorney.  As we are approaching the end of year 1, I am excited about where we are as a law firm and I am looking forward to 2015/2016, where I hope to continue growing the business, which will allow our firm to help more and more residents of Tarrant County. I am also sincerely grateful to everyone who has offered assistance, wrote a kind review, or who has been there to pick me up on days when it feels like it’s us against the world.

Here are a few highlights for the first year:

  1. Our firm was able to successfully represent a client who was falsely accused of a very serious aggravated offense.  He was facing 25 years to 99/Life in prison and was stuck in jail.  Fortunately, after investigation and a DNA test, we were able to get the case dropped and my client was exonerated and was released from jail.  It was both scary (how you could be stuck in jail, facing such a serious crime that you didn’t commit) and exhilarating (being able to help that person when everyone seems to think they are guilty).  I hate that this type of thing happens, but if it does, I hope to be able to help those folks out who are in desperate need of help.
  2. I got sworn into the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Texas (to be able to practice in federal court).  My sponsor (who has to speak on your behalf before a U.S. District Judge) was Art Brender.  Art just won the Blackstone Award for Lawyer of the Year in Tarrant County. It has been a privilege being able to office next to and learn from some of Tarrant County finest trial lawyers in Art and John Brender.
  3. In Year 1, we had over 30 felony cases Dismissed, No Billed, or Reduced to a Misdemeanor. Very pleased with these outcomes (clients are pretty pleased as well).
  4. Our firm was also able to help out victims in personal injury cases, where we were able to not only recover medical expenses for injuries they suffered, but we were also able to put money in their pockets, which is always a great feeling.

It was an exiting year.  I look forward to Year 2.  A lot more to come.  Please let me know if need help – 877-208-3382.
